Acne Tips for Women
I have some acne tips for women too because women have their own share of troubles when it comes to acne outbreaks. We don't shave like men so we don't have that kind of problem.
However, women's dilemma in relation to acne is more out of their physiology or body make-up. In fact, women can be fifty and may still have acne problems which can be quite embarrassing. It's not even an issue about having a healthy lifestyle or eating a balanced diet. It's all about getting acne outbreaks due to hormonal imbalances that stem from menstrual cycles.
Are there any suitable acne tips for women suffering from severe hormonal acne?
Some women suffer from severe hormonal acne problem. Relying on some acne tips for women can only make their health disorder even worse, because hormonal acne can be caused by irregularity in menstrual cycles, infertility, and diabetes or at worst obesity. So what acne tips for women can one give them?
Obviously it's not about acne topical ointments or natural cures. Women who suffer from severe hormonal acne are best left in the care of their dermatologists, family physician or gynecologist or whichever doctor is appropriate.
Nevertheless, all women are susceptible to monthly acne outbreak which is one good reason why you should have a regular regimen on how you can prevent acne from getting infected or from spreading out. Whether one likes it or not, a girl or woman who still has a regular monthly cycle is bound to have a pimple or two to signal that her monthly period is up.
Here are some acne tips for women to prevent a pimple from breaking out into multiple zits:
1. If you're a mild pimple sufferer, it means your zit doesn't act up easily. Hence, washing your face daily with mild soap and warm water will do. It's different if your skin is the type that automatically goes from pimple to acne because your lifestyle and what you eat now becomes an influencing factor. Your sebaceous gland produces oil at a faster rate, hence the presence of dirt and dead skin cells immediately launches an army of bacteria to invade your skin and form mounds of acne.
2. You need to use sulfur based soap for washing your face once in the morning and another before going to bed. Sulfur is said to have a keratolytic agent that takes care of the dead skin cells clogging your pores. They should not accumulate in your pores once oil glands start going into over production at the onset of your menstrual cycle. By constantly washing your face with sulfur based soap, your skin has been regularly cleansed out of dead skin cell to prevent clogs.
3. My next acne tip for women is applicable to all types of skin and to all women who still experience monthly periods. Keep your face free from hair bangs or hair framed around your face at the onset of your monthly cycle. Hair carries a lot of oil and dirt. If you will allow it to press against your skin pores while the sebaceous glands are at the active stage, hair will only channel more dirt than necessary.
4. Eat plenty of carrots or drink beta carotene supplements (Vitamin A) to correct your proneness to overproduction of sebaceous oils in anticipation of your menstrual cycle. The beta carotene in Vitamin A helps in countering too much production of sebum because of its anti-oxidizing agents. In fact, an overactive sebaceous gland can be taken as a reflection of your diet for lacking sufficient supply of Vitamin A nutrients.
5. Since we cannot expect the natural ingredients to work-up miracles like chemicals do, augment your anti acne routine by applying mask made from honey and a little squeeze of lemon. Honey acts as an anti-bacterial, and will be responsible for taking care of the bacteria dwellers who takes up residence in your pores.
We can get bacteria from all sources like outdoor exposures to dust and wind, make-up and sometimes even our pillow cases can be sources of bacteria. Bacteria transfer to the skin to look for a better breeding ground while you're asleep.
A good acne tip for women here is to change your linens particularly your pillowcases regularly. Most of all, improving your diet to regulate hormonal imbalances would be the best acne tip for women any one can give.
