However, prolonged sensitivity to a certain acne medication recommends a change of anti-acne drugs. Oral contraceptive pills contain ethinyl estradiol, an estrogen ingredient. They alter hormonal patterns in women. By the reduction of testosterone in the body, the amount of oil produced by the glands is also reduced, preventing pore clogging.
