Best Acne Home Treatment

One of the best acne home treatment I've used and with great results is tea tree oil. You can buy tea tree oils in undiluted form in health food stores and some online. Some of the acne treatments I've tried before actually contain tea tree oil but it prompted me to consult a dermatologist since I was having rashes with some of the chemical additive. The dermatologist recommended I used plain tea tree oil instead dilute with a little water to lessen its potency.

Skin tests showed that I had allergic reactions to chemical tocopheryl acetate which was included as ingredient of the acne medication to act as antioxidant and skin conditioner. Now, that's one thing I've learned about acne treatments, cosmetics and other consumer products. Today most of them contain harsh and harmful chemical ingredients. If you're like me whose skin is quite sensitive, I suggest that you should look for the best acne home treatment to suit your skin type. Otherwise, you'll end up spending more by doubling costs on medications that don't work.

So far, tea tree oil has been the best acne home treatment for me. The very sign of pimple that pops up on my skin gets treated with a little of this natural substance to make sure acne breakouts can be prevented. Tea tree oil is said to contain terpinen-4-ol which is the substance responsible for killing the acne bacteria with its anti-microbial properties.

According to my dermatologist, it kills the most common skin-dwelling bacteria called propionibacterium.
Compared to another acne treatment I tried which contained a chemical substance called benzoyl peroxide, the latter caused me some burning and stinging sensation I couldn't stand. The substance also caused my skin to turn dry which made me stop using it altogether. Tea tree oil has provided me the best home treatment remedy and I've never used any other ever since.

However, there's a downside to this, it takes longer for tea tree to take effect if you're one who's in a hurry to eradicate your pimple. Some of the girls I know use potent chemically based acne medications and the acne disappears overnight. With tea tree oil, the curing process takes about days which as a treatment process, is good enough for me. I'd rather stay on with this kind of acne home treatment than suffer some burning sensations.

Remember to dilute your tea tree oil with water since I was told by my doctor that applying it in its concentrated form can also cause skin reddening and irritations. Once it starts itching, it's an indication that your skin is drying up. To be exact, I mix 5 ml of tea tree oil to 95 ml of water to make the diluted form. Perhaps you will understand why it takes longer to react because you?re not supposed to use too much of it.

Tea tree oil may be the best acne home treatment I've used but it has its limitation. Remember not to use it if you're pregnant or if you're breastfeeding. Also, keep it in a safe place where children cannot reach it.
