Body acne information is not as abundant as acne on the face, but most people who get acne have it on the body as well. Acne on the body can be a confidence killer just like acne on your face, and it is harder to get rid of as well.

I Had Severe Acne on My Body

The body acne picture below shows me after having greatly reduced the amount of back acne, although several pimples and scars are still present. I get body acne primarily on my back, but also have had some on my chest for many years. I'd also randomly get acne in weird places like my forearms, and yup, even my butt once in a while.

When I was a teenager I developed some severe cystic acne on my upper back. Once my parents saw and freaked out, they took me to the doctor. I was put on oral antibiotics and that seemed to reduce the severity. The thing is, it never really went away entirely. Over the years the acne spread out all over my back.

I found it embarrassing to take off my shirt in public and would frequently avoid doing so. Workouts at the gym were made that much more stressful because of my acne.

I did not find it practical (or cheap!) to use topical treatments for my back or chest acne. The only way I was able to clear my body was through natural treatment.

Body Acne Characteristics

Acne on your body is similar to acne on the face. If your parents had body acne there is a good chance you will get it, and the causes are the same.

The main difference is that skin on your body, like your back or chest, is thicker and has more pores than your face. This increases the potential for more severe acne lesions. In other words, you're more likely to get nodules and cysts on your body than your face.

This makes body acne tougher to get rid of too. By applying the principles I now teach on this web site, I was able to clear my face much sooner than my body.

Scarring is also a greater risk for people due to the more severe lesions. I'm still trying to heal the numerous scars on my back. It looks like a war zone! I popped my body zits very often and now I'm paying the price. Leave those pimples alone, especially since they aren't as visible as ones on your face.
