Acne on Scalp
I like the fact that I don't suffer from acne on my face but I also don't like the acne on scalp that takes place. It's so irritatingly itchy that I really couldn't help myself from scratching which I know is quite unbecoming for a woman to do.
It is said to be the mildest form of acne and is usually caused by stress. In fact, I was told that there are worse forms of scalp acne. Bad hair days especially seem to make the itchiness even more unbearable so I always make it a point to wash my hair daily. This is to remove the excess oils that accumulate, lest I get to develop the dreadful type of acne on scalp. It is said that it can even form black crusts as the acne bacteria gets inflamed badly enough.
Although mild, a dermatologist recommended treatments that contain salicylic acid I did not adhere to this because I was afraid of ruining my scalp even more. Everyone knows for a fact that salicylic acid can cause dryness of skin, so how much more on the scalp and on the hair follicles ?
To date I still experience acne on scalp but what I use so as not to worsen is a good dabbing of aloe Vera on the affected part. I bough a grown aloe Vera plant just for this purpose and the soothing pulp provides a good solution against the scalp itch.
It provides a good enough solution over the use of salicylic acid. I tried tea tree oil but I was advised that it could also cause skin dryness. Acne on scalp is not really a problem except for the itchy occasions and I often experience the Itch when I feel a bit pressured and can't seem to have everything done in a jiffy.
Another thing that keeps me from using acne medications is that I apply hair dye. You might think that hair dyes may be causing the acne on my scalp which I also thought so at first. I stopped using hair dyes for about a year but the acne on my scalp didn't go away so I was able to prove it was not the hair dye at all.
Only the aloe Vera gives me the relief that I need even with or without the hair dye.
Scalp acne is not as bad, since everyone seems to have the occasional acne once in awhile. It's only the unsettling itchiness that comes along with it. What I do to prevent the acne from breaking it out is to use a shampoo made from castille soap. It's actually soap that is almost 100% olive oil based.
I realized that once my scalp starts itching, it means I'm getting all stressed up again. Hence, relieving my stress was the next best thing to do to prevent the itch that comes with it. I use natural aloe Vera, to make the acne on my scalp go away and do some yoga exercises to relieve my stress and stop the itching. So far, this has been the best way to relieve acne on scalp.
